The rooms at Hostal Andorra are just what I needed - cozy and comfortable. The air conditioning is a game-changer, especially during the hot summer. And with the free WiFi, I was able to stay connected without any hassle. Plus, having a safe in the room gave me peace of mind.
Personally, I would have preferred a shower instead of a bathtub in the bathroom. But hey, that's just my preference and I'm sure others might enjoy a nice soak in the tub.

The location
I booked a single/individual room, when I arrived they didn't have one but they accomodated me into a double (queen size bed) except that the room didn't have a toilet seat inside I had to use one outside...The next morning I had a friend come visit and they wouldn't allow him to come into the room; they said that if he did I had to pay the price for a "doubled room", I explained I was giving a doubled-room 'çause they didn't have the single room I booked on line...Anyway, the whole thing was ridiculous and unacceptable, not to mention how embarassing it was in front of my friend. Needless to say I ended up having to pay for a double-room so my friend could come visit me for 1 hour...Very unreasonable. Would not recommend this hotel

The price is fantastic for this amazing location, with attractions, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance. The room was surprisingly quiet for being on a busy street. Check-in was smooth despite the language barrier. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The renovated bathroom was a nice touch. The location is perfect for exploring the city and there's even a bus tour stop right outside. The nearby restaurant, Cafe y Tapas, was a hit with my kids. The easy access to the hostel with the sensor chip system was convenient. a mind-blowingly great stay with jaw-dropping amenities.

Hostal was clean and quite secured. Noise level was minimal. Able to walk to major sites in Madrid but had metros nearby. One staff person spoke some English. Cleaning staff were very kind.
Continental breakfast was toast, jam and coffee/tea only.

Great location for being in the heart of Madrid. Unpretentious with friendly staff. Clean and good value. It suited our needs as we were on a stopover in Madrid before continuing a trip to the south of Spain - as long as you expect to be self sufficient then this is a good choice.
Night time can be noisy - but this is a function of where the hotel is. You're in the centre of a city that stays up late.

I always stay at this place because it made me feel welcome from my first visit when the staff gave me directions. And I keep coming back because it has everything I need - free Wi-Fi, car park, bar, laundry - and I'm excited to be there for Christmas.

Conveniently located and reasonably priced.
Morning coffee was too expensive and heat was turned off part of the day.

I wanted to visit El Retiro Park, so I chose Hostal Andorra due to its good location. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary wireless internet access that allowed me to stay connected during my stay. What I liked the most was the broad avenue of Gran Via, which brought the heart of Madrid to life day and night, offering endless opportunities for wandering and people-watching.
Rude staff, noisy rooms.

Be in the heart of the city and have cheap accommodation with private bath.
The bathroom had a weird smell that spread thru the room. The bed was short and mattress not very comfortable.

We stayed at Hostal Andorra for 2 nights while exploring the city. The location was fantastic, right by the metro station and on the Madrid Bus Tour line. The staff, especially the cleaning staff and the evening receptionist, were friendly and attentive. The room was basic but comfortable, with air conditioning and a fan. There was a wonderful reception room with a view of Gran Via. We also loved the restaurant across the street, Cafe y Tapas, which served delicious food and had a cool mist spray to keep us refreshed in the heat.
I recommend this hotel.

A cosy hostal, located on the 7th floor, which reduces the streetnoise. Friendly & helpfull staff, safe ( you can't walk just in but have to ring at the door ). No blingbling or luxury, but comfy beds with super pillows, clean and at walking distance from a lot of things to be seen.
